Inflammation of the gastric mucosa is uncomfortable and painful.

In addition to drug therapy, diet for gastric gastritis is of great importance - the "right" products do not irritate the walls, contribute to the regeneration of the epithelium and maintain remission of the disease.

What to eat for gastritis

There are many reasons why gastritis develops:

  • Improper diet, with a predominance of dry, spicy, hot food;
  • Unbalanced diets;
  • Abuse of alcoholic beverages, soda;
  • Taking certain medicines that irritate the stomach lining

Before talking about what you can eat with gastritis and what to give up, you need to learn a few basic tenets of the diet:

  1. Eating should be regular. You should not take long breaks between meals, missed lunch or afternoon tea should not be replaced by a "double" dinner for any reason;
  2. In gastritis, fractional dishes are shown - in small portions at short intervals;
  3. If possible, do not mix solid and liquid foods; the first dishes must be separate from the second. Dishes with a liquid or puree-like consistency are the easiest to digest;
  4. Food temperature should not be too high or low, hot food is optimally absorbed and does not irritate the stomach;
  5. The use of salt must be kept to a minimum and spices and seasonings must be completely abandoned;
  6. The diet should be rich in vitamins, but fiber for patients with gastritis is too heavy a food;
  7. Dishes are cooked boiled (steamed) or stewed;

What you can eat with gastritis

High acidity

The purpose of the diet in gastritis with increased secretion of hydrochloric acid is to reduce the acidity, to neutralize it with the help of the stomach contents.

  • Vegetable soups with pasta, rice. The vegetables are cooked well and passed through a blender;
  • Milk soups with noodles or cooked cereals;
  • Yesterday's (dried) white bread made of wheat flour;
  • Meat - beef, lean lamb and pork, chicken, turkey, rabbit without skin, tendons. The meat is roasted or steamed, cut cutlets, souffles, meatballs, beef stroganoff (cooked meat) are allowed;
  • Milk and non-sour products from it - kefir, yoghurt, cream, sour cream, cottage cheese (cheesecake, casserole), soft cheeses;
  • Chicken, duck, quail eggs - boiled soft-boiled or in the form of an omelet;
  • Porridge: semolina, buckwheat, rice, oats, water or milk, viscous, wrapping, cereals should be boiled and rubbed through a sieve;
  • Vegetables - boiled or stewed, mashed. Pumpkin, squash, potatoes, beets, carrots, cauliflower, rarely tomatoes and green peas are allowed;
  • Fruits - neutral or sweet, bananas, sweet peeled apples (baked), pears, ripe paradise apple. Fruits - only sweet, in the form of jelly, compotes, fruit drinks, marshmallows, marmalade, jam;
  • Cold snacks include boiled tongue, liver pate, fish aspic, red caviar, milk sausage and sausage, forshmak, unsalted ham (moderate! )
  • We recommend drinking sweet compotes, lightly brewed tea (with milk, cream), weak coffee with milk, cocoa, jelly;
  • Unsalted butter, ghee and refined vegetable oil are allowed.

Low acidity

When making a diagnosis, the goal is to stimulate the production of hydrochloric acid. Unlike the previous diet, in this case you can:

  • Cook soups on steep fish and meat broths;
  • Eat pickled vegetables and fruits;
  • Include salted, canned foods in your diet;
  • Give preference to fermented dairy products;
  • Drink sour juices - orange, grapefruit, tomato, grape;
  • Drink still mineral water

What not to eat with gastritis

  • Fresh bread, pastries, pastries, puff pastry, rye bread and rye flour products;

  • yogurt, spicy cheese;
  • Fried and hard boiled eggs;
  • Millet, barley, pearl barley, corn porridge;
  • Pasta, excluding noodles;
  • Legumes, cabbage, rutabaga, turnips, sorrel, cucumbers, spinach, onions; all kinds of vegetables in the form of pickles, marinated, marinated, canned; mushrooms;
  • Sour fruits - melon, pomegranate, grapes, peaches, citrus fruits, kiwi. Small fruit seeds irritate the intestinal walls, so they are consumed only in processed form. Dried fruits are not recommended;
  • Chocolate, ice cream;
  • Sauces, mustard, pepper, horseradish. Limited to vanillin, cinnamon, dill, parsley, garlic;
  • Nuts - peanuts, hazelnuts;
  • Drink fizzy drinks, strong coffee, sourdough bread.

Low acidity

Foods that cause fermentation in the stomach are prohibited:

  • milk, cream, sour cream;
  • confectionery, rolls;
  • chocolate;
  • turnips, garlic.

There is a contradictory opinion about the use of watermelon: ripe sweet watermelon will not hurt, but you should not abuse it, as the kidneys are additionally burdened, the risk of exacerbation of urolithiasis increases.

Daily menu for gastritis

Despite strict prohibitions, it is possible (and necessary! ) to eat healthily and deliciously even during an exacerbation of gastritis. The recipes are varied, the main thing is to show your imagination.

Sample menu for the day:

  • Breakfast. Buckwheat porridge with milk (puree), scrambled eggs, tea with milk;
  • Second breakfast. Sour, unleavened biscuits;

  • Afternoon breakfast. Cottage cheese casserole with sour cream.

For gastritis with low acidity, the menu should be varied with fruits fermented dairy products.

Strict adherence to diet is required (Table 1) during the exacerbation period and the first two weeks after stopping the attack.

You can then gradually introduce additional foods into your diet, carefully monitoring your condition.
